This place was recommended by a local. It's definitely a local bar off of 54th. It has its regulars around the U shape bar. Occupancy feels like 60 people tops. Has 5 TVs of different resolution quality that has quirks. This is a place to grab a beer for 5. They have 6 drafts. I got a Guinness and it was okay. I think bottles is a better bet. Both liquor and beer. The price is right for the place. You can't get meal under 10 bets these days. Overall, very dive-y. It has all the neon signs and gritty for your traditional bar. No games like billiards or darts. They even have a parking lot Sherman. He must be very loved for premier parking.

Excellent service. Cauli was amazing, loved the breading. Great stop, good vibes, decent food options. Don't order any carbonated drink, it all tastes flat. Minus the flat pop, I would have given it a 5 star on food. Next time we are in the area I would stop again.

Found out about this place from reddit. We were only in town for one day, and we wanted to try a genuine Indiana tenderloin. My wife and I ordered one sandwich and an order of fried mushrooms, and both were amazing. The breading was the perfect mix of crunchy and crispy, and the tenderloin hung over the bun on all sides. Without being asked, our waitress cut the sandwich in half and put each half on separate plates - definitely not her first rodeo. The meal came out in less than 15 minutes too. All this with a diet coke and sales tax for $17.99, unbelievable! Highly recommended.

Neighborhood bar with delicious food for a great price with fantastic service. Can’t beat it. The Parmesan garlic bone in wings are arguably my favorite in town. Crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Pawn broker burger is my favorite burger with substituting the chips for Waffle fries - they are crispy and delicious. Add a side of ranch to bring it home! You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Breadsticks with cheese sauce are great for sharing and delicious!

Being completely honest, our experience came with mixed results. But what I realized is that with every negative aspect I was quick to find an opposing upside. It was an exercise in compromise, and setting realistic expectations. We walked in and found it moderately busy. It was unclear if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait, and no one was available to direct us. I decided to find a table myself, taking advantage of the nice weather and sitting outside on the patio. A nearby server let us know she would inform our server. I’m still not sure if that was the accepted protocol. 🤷♂️ After a few minutes we were greeted by our server and she provided us with menus as she took our drink order. We knew a classic tenderloin and their hand-dipped onion rings were a must, and we added a charbroiled cheeseburger and fries. 🍔🍟 We were immediately shocked by the menu pricing. Eight dollars for a sandwich? Sides that were just a few bucks? Dollar fifty fountain drinks?! Did we jump back in time? 🤯 As we waited for our food I did occasionally pick up the smell of cat urine in the breeze. Looking around the patio I noticed a few water bowls for pets. So while the brief smell wasn’t pleasant, I did appreciate their accommodation of pets while dining outside. 🐕🦺 Our food arrived and I was immediately impressed with the large golden-brown tenderloin before me. It was medium thickness, twice the size of the large bun, and came with fresh lettuce, pickles, onion, and mayo. The bun was lightly grilled, which always bolsters my first impression. 🥬🍅🥒🧅 I divided the cutlet in half and dressed the sandwich. My first bite told me they understood the assignment. The fatty mayo complimented the salty breading, with the veggies providing the clean top notes. While I didn’t personally crown it the best ever, it was an excellent BPT that clearly deserved the recognition it’s received. If you go, get one. And if you’re feeling adventurous, they also offer specialty BPTs, with combinations like “Philly”, “Buffalo”, and “Italian”. 😎 The onion rings were equally excellent. I love extra breading and these delivered. Every bite was clean, without removing the entire onion. They were served with cocktail sauce, which I found interesting. 👀 The Charbroiled Cheeseburger was good but less impressive by comparison. The shredded cheese was a curious choice but it included the same fresh veggies and grilled bun. Overall I was quite happy with the food and am now wondering what other items might be worth ordering. 🤔 So the building was old and seemed a bit dingy. Our Cokes were weak, and service was down the middle. We felt a bit like outsiders, and the pet-friendly patio smelled like pets. BUT . . . The food and drinks were crazy cheap. Portions were large and the food was great. We were able to eat outside on a beautiful day and we got to experience what so many people before us already had. The Pawn Shop Pub is a local dive bar being a local dive bar. Once I accepted that I was able to fully enjoy what makes them special— great food, sold cheap. The Indianapolis foodscape includes restaurants of all kinds. We have the freedom of choice, and so many options. If you’re looking for a killer BPT at a jaw-dropping price, give The Pawn Shop Pub a try. 👍🏻

Don’t let the outside appearance stop you from eating here. The food is fabulous! My husband is still raving about the Bean Soup. I had Tenderloin Sticks which is pork tenderloin cut in sticks and hand breaded (save the bread!). My husband had the tenderloin sandwich. Onion rings and mushrooms rounded out the meal. Our meal was $35 and we took enough home for another meal! Delicious!!!

Stopped here for lunch, and really enjoyed my meal! The food itself was delicious, and the value was one of the best in town. There were two of us, and the combined bill was about $20. I ordered the half tenderloin special, which came with chips and a cup of beer cheese soup. My sandwich was cooked perfectly. Good thickness, seasoned well, and not dried out. The veggie toppings were very nice and fresh. My friend ordered the pot roast special, which also looked very good. The outside appearance of this place is deceiving. Definitely worth stopping in and trying it out! Only thing that was mediocre was our server. She wasn't "bad", but she certainly wasn't great either. Not very personable, and my drink never got refilled at all.
